What is therapy?
A space that is yours
Therapy is not about being given advice or being told what you should do. It is a space where you can talk openly, without judgement, and have your experiences taken seriously.
My role is to listen carefully, help you make sense of what you're experiencing, and work alongside you as you explore the things that matter to you. There is no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what to talk about. We can begin wherever feels most natural.
Is therapy right for me?
You may be considering therapy because something doesn't feel quite right, even if you're not sure exactly what it is. Perhaps you find yourself repeating the same patterns in your relationships, feeling anxious, overwhelmed or disconnected, or struggling with your confidence or sense of self.
Maybe something from your past continues to affect you in the present, or you find it difficult to understand or express what you're feeling. You may be experiencing difficulties in your relationships, or simply have a sense that you'd like to understand yourself more deeply but don't know where to begin.
You don't need to have a clear reason for coming to therapy, or to feel that things are “bad enough”. We can start with whatever feels important to you.
Making the decision to begin therapy can feel daunting at first, but it can also be one of the most rewarding and life-changing choices you make for yourself.
Therapy offers not only a chance to ease your immediate struggles, but also an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of who you are and how you want to live.
